About the Cover - 0000.psd

  • The outer guides represent where the printed cover will fold over the board material.
Place text or important parts of an image at least 1/4 inch away from outer guides.
  • The right side of the document is the front cover.
  • The left side of the document is the back cover.
  • The two guides in the center represent the spine.
You may place text or an image in this area, or you may leave it blank.
  • A grey or blue box on the back cover is the Barcode placeholder.
Do not place text or important parts of an image in this area, as it will be covered by the bar code.

About the Bar Code

On the last page and the back cover, there is space reserved for the required barcode.

When opened, the page file will have a layer with the barcode placeholder. YOU MUST DELETE THIS LAYER BEFORE SAVING THE FILE. Our system will automatically overprint the barcode in the reserved area.

You may place part of your image under the barcode, but keep in mind it will be partially hidden.

About the First Inside Page - 0001.jpg

  • The outer guides or TRIM LINES represent the area where the paper will be cut.
Place text or important parts of an image at least 1/4 inch away from trim lines.
  • The left guide represents the gutter area.

About the Spreads - 0203.jpg

  • The outer guides or TRIM LINES represent the area where the paper will be cut.
Place text or important parts of an image at least 1/4 inch away from trim lines.
  • The three guides in the center represent the gutter. Approximately 1/2 inch of the image area will be hidden in the gutter. Do not place text or important parts of an image in this area. It usually looks fine to have parts of an image go through the gutter, as long as it's not important information - like someone's face!

About the Last Inside Page - 8000.psd

  • The outer guides or TRIM LINES represent the area where the paper will be cut.
Place text or important parts of an image at least 1/4 inch away from trim lines.
  • The right guide represents the gutter area.
  • A grey or blue box is the Barcode placeholder.
Do not place text or important parts of an image in this area, as it will be covered by the bar code.
