We are Jake and Jennifer Moreland, owners of Two Birds Photography. Two Birds Photography is based out of Westmont, IL. Although we shoot primarily in Chicago and it's Suburbs, we are always up for a road trip!

Our cute little outdoor wedding in 2006 created the perfect union of a photographer and a designer. As a husband-and-wife team, we have worked side by side from the beginning and founded Two Birds Photography in 2008.

We work from home with our sons, Graysen and Bear, our two Boxer pups, and usually a foster animal or two. Working together has been an awesome experience and starting our own business has been enriching beyond anything we imagined. Our goal when working with our clients, whether that be shooting, editing images or designing a wedding album, is to capture who they are, and the amazing love that is shared! Our individual strengths blend seamlessly to create a beautiful end product we know you'll love.

Why photography?
We have always been artists and wanted to make a living out of doing something creative. Jake started photographing weddings and portraits right out of college and really enjoyed making artistic images out of people's days. We are inspired by everything around us whether it is photographing our children, using old cameras, exploring old towns, or taking pictures of homeless animals. There are so many things that go into keeping us active and inspired with photography.

Why do you use AsukaBook?
As wedding photographers we need to offer albums to showcase a couple's day. These albums need to be of amazing, consistent quality, and have a quick turnaround. AsukaBook has all of these qualities.

We use the square Book Bound Hard Cover books with the plastic slip case. Our clients love the slim size of these books and that their photos are printed right on the cover.

Any selling tips for other photographers?
If you offer albums you need to keep it simple. A few years ago, we offered at least a dozen different products and people were always confused. It was difficult to explain every album and they would end up forgetting which albums were which. We now only offer two different styles of albums which is so much easier to sell and people always remember the differences.

What else should people know about you?
One thing that we do outside of photography is foster homeless pets. We work with animal rescues who pull the animals off of "Death Row" at high-kill shelters. We provide a safe environment for these animals, give them a stable home, food, love and shelter until their forever families adopt them! This is something that has a positive influence on our community, in our home, and most importantly in the lives of these animals!
