CONVERSION DETAILS
The Convert Book feature allows you to convert the current design project to a new book style, add or remove pages, or change the book size (square to square, vertical to vertical, horizontal to horizontal).
- You must use the Convert Book feature for increasing or decreasing the number of sides instead of using InDesign's Page Insert or Delete Spread feature so that the size of the book spine is updated correctly.
- You will need to create the new product templates that will be used when converting your original layout. The original layouts will not be affected.
- All layers will be kept and transferred to the new set of templates.
- Due to quality restrictions, our tool protects against sizing files up. Size conversion can only be done from a larger to smaller sized product with the same aspect ratio.
- Conversion needs to be done separately for inside pages, cover and case.
For example: If you are converting to a book style with a designable case and/or cover, you will need to use the Convert Book feature three times, once for the pages, once for the cover, and once for the case.
- You cannot convert a product to another product of a different aspect ratio.
For example: A square layout cannot be converted to a horizontal/vertical layout or vice-versa. You will need to
redesign the layouts if that is your goal.
- If the source color space does not match the destination color space, the conversion process will stop.
- If you wish to increase the number of sides (pages), extra blank spreads will be inserted before the last single side.
- If you wish to decrease the number of sides(pages), you must remove those spreads from the original layout prior to
conversion.
- Small adjustments to the new layout may be necessary after the conversion process is complete. Reviewing each
layout prior to placing your order is strongly recommended.
