My business is Christi G Photography and I photograph pets mostly on location in peoples homes or at the local parks in Bend, OR. Bend is the perfect place for a pet photographer as it was recently named one of the most "dog friendly cities in the US" by Dog Fancy magazine. Bend has a wide variety of dog parks, pet friendly events, and stores that cater to the pet lover.Why photography?
I worked at an animal shelter for over 4.5 years before moving to Bend. I really missed the feeling of making a difference I had while working there. I started learning photography by taking classes and volunteering at my local animal shelter taking photos of the adoptable dogs, cats, rats, rabbits, and birds. With so many homeless pets in the US, and so many people searching for their next pet online, having a good photograph becomes all the more important. I want my images to create a connection with a potential adopter so my focus is always on the animal's eyes. When photographing pets it is important to constantly be in tune with where they are mentally. Are they bored, tired, over excited, or scared? I have to work around their mood and sometimes be very patient in order to get the shot.Why do you use AsukaBook?
