Meet Tony and Danielle Lombardo from Little Blue Lemon Photography. People often ask where Little Blue Lemon got its name. It's a legitimate question and the answer is usually, "What does it mean to you?" Yes, it's quirky and completely laid back, but then again so are they.
Here's their story:

How did you become photographers?
We both came to photography from different angles. Tony started by fumbling around with his dad's old Ricoh while working in the Rockies, and I was working as a professional acrobat. Eventually, we met, became a team, got married (and just recently had our little boy!), and the wedding industry became a photographic home for us. I do recall a moment, sitting in an airport while we perused a copy of American Photo's "Best Wedding Photographers in the World" article and thinking to ourselves, "We need to get on this list one day!"

What is your photographic specialty?
Ever since the two of us got married, we've fallen in love with the idea of wedding photography and the potential it has for making the best shoots ever! That's why we specialize in weddings, though some pregnant bellies and baby shoots seem to crop up, but that's only natural in this industry!

How many sessions do you shoot a year?
We try to cap it at 50 weddings a year; this allows us to really over-service our couples. We put a lot of work into the album component. We feel this is really the cornerstone of what they are putting their money towards, as opposed to a shoot-and-burn service, which leaves them with a CD that may very well get lost in a drawer and never see the light of day. Nothing beats having a gorgeous AsukaBook sitting on that coffee table for all your friends to peruse for years to come.

What is the craziest/funnest/most exciting shoot you've done?
When our cinematographers got engaged, they wanted to do a Leave It To Beaver kinda thing. Danielle's grandmother's basement is literally frozen in 1964! We shot for hours in the basement recreating all sorts of wacky domesticated scenes. It was hilarious.

What is your dream photo shoot (location, subject, etc.)?
Two words: The Alps. We spend most of winters (aka, wedding downtime) in Switzerland and really love hitting the slopes together. Doing a wedding out there would be a dream come true.

How long have you been in business?
We've been in the business for about a decade, but the idea to start Little Blue Lemon came about five years ago.

Do you volunteer your photography services in your area as a way to give back?
We both come from performance backgrounds. Tony still frequently works with his sketch comedy troupe The Imponderables and I used to be a professional acrobat. That said, we tend to offer our services to the many theater and performance artists that we are surrounded by in Toronto.
