What is the name of your studio? Where are you located? How long have you been in business? What is your photographic specialty?
Emory Photography has been in business for 5 years. People are my photographic specialty but if I had to be specific, I would say weddings and lifestyle family sessions.
I shoot around 25-35 weddings per year and around 25-35 children's sessions. I am a meticulous editor so I like to have the time to pull each photograph to its full potential. Even more than that, I like to get to know my clients and spend time with them. I always feel kind of attached to them by the end of a session.
What inspires/inspired you to be/become a photographer?
I always knew I wanted to be a photographer, even before I had a camera. But once I actually started creating my own images I became fascinated with the idea of visual communication and the amount of information you can convey through a photograph, not just happy emotion like love, but also true complex emotion like sadness, integrity, hope, fear, and honor. So what I do, what I aim to achieve, would be "visual journalism" in a sense. Photography, much like any art, is beautiful because it is a universal language.
Which style AsukaBook is your favorite? What do you love about AsukaBook?
Book Bound EX all day, all the way!
AsukaBook is simply the best because they are legitimately the most inviting and exciting to look at, in addition to a quality level that is far superior than any album a client could print themselves. With the images printed on the pages themselves, you can get more pages (thus include more photographs) without having an extremely heavy or clunky book.
What key selling points help you when selling an AsukaBook to a potential client?
Honestly, once my clients actually see and flip through the albums, they sell themselves. The key selling point I have is to remind clients that there are only two reasons to get an album - 1. you love the pictures in it and 2. because people are going to look at it.
Share one unique thing about you.
I volunteer at the Center for Autism near my hometown and help them with photos for their promotional items, bulletins, and website. I just go there and hang out with the kids and take pictures of them learning and playing. They say funny things, make cute faces, have unique personalities, and you could fall in love with every single one of them. I guess this specific cause kind of chose me, because the need was there and I was in the right place at the right time. I love being there. I also do charity stuff whenever I can, whether that be shooting a fundraiser or donating services for raffle and/or auction.
