Tell us about your company or studio.
Based in Nags Head, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Neil GT Photography is a boutique photography studio providing fine art wedding photography and wedding photojournalism at destination weddings worldwide. Neil and Lisa Thurston, a husband and wife team, have been traveling the world and photographing weddings together since 2006.
Why photography?
I always loved photography. Even as a kid I can remember my first camera, it was a tiny 110 film camera that came free when I mailed in a cereal box coupon, my fingertips showed up in all of the pictures but I was hooked. In the years since photography has lead the way as I've traveled around the world, allowing me to see and experience so many amazing places and to get to know the people who live there. Eight years ago when Lisa and I were planning our own wedding we were inspired by the creative work we were seeing from modern wedding photographers, we started our own studio together and haven't looked back.
Why do you use AsukaBook?
The quality of the bookbinding and the six color printing by AsukaBook is unmatched by the competition. The wide range of styles and sizes available offers our clients everything they need to create a book that is unique and special to them. Our favorite AsukaBook is the Book Bound EXD album. Clients love the fully designable cover and slide-in book case, the matte pages are a big hit, and the print quality is simply amazing.
Any selling tips for other photographers?
While we offer the entire AsukaBook line of products to our clients, we've built our favorite book styles into our wedding photography packages to simplify the order process. Our "AsukaBook Package" includes a larger custom designed book for the bride and groom along with two smaller copies of that book that can be given to the parents as a gift after the wedding. Our couples love the idea and we're happy to say that nearly 100% of our clients receive a beautiful album of their wedding photography.
What else should people know about you?
It's an exciting time for our family. We have a brand new daughter, our first! Everything is new and exciting. We can't wait to see where life takes us.
