Tell us about your company or studio.
Our studio is named Red Boot Design, and we’re based out of Bend, Oregon. We’ve been in business since 2006, providing custom album design and templates to photographers worldwide. We specialize in custom design for AsukaBook products.
Why design?
I’m passionate about both photography and graphic design, so designing albums is a perfect way to put those passions together! I love all that every wedding, event, and portrait session is different, and each and every photographer has their own way of documenting it. I genuinely get excited when I receive a new set of images to design with… The anticipation kills me when I’m waiting for the files to download!
Why do you use AsukaBook?
I love the quality of AsukaBook. The printing is exceptional, and consistent from book to book. I really like the Zen Layflat EX book… Classy with a modern twist, and the layflat binding to allows for a ton of design flexibility because I don’t have to worry about placing images across the gutter.
Any selling tips for other photographers?
AsukaBook products sell themselves, but good studio samples are key! I recommend picking a few of your favorite album styles, and having a sample of each. Also, the subjects of the books should be the same as the clients you are trying to sell to (ie; wedding sample for wedding clients, children/family sample for portrait clients), so your clients can picture what their own images will look like in an album.
What else should people know about you?
Outside of photography and design, shoes are my next love! (Seriously… I once had a dream that I was hyperventilating in the shoe store, because they were having a huge sale and I didn’t know where to start!) High heels are definitely my weakness… a girl can never have enough heels! |
